PEACE OUT!

WIP, Peace Rose, 8" x 10" Oil on Panel
Here's a little painted memento of the flowers I received from the good people who sponsored the Peace Poster Contest in Winsted last Tuesday.( Pardon the photo it's not quite capturing the gun-smoke grey sfumato glaze that is engulfing the arrangement). The competition featured student works from around the area. I'm proud to say that my students from NWR7,S.C., J.W., and K.L. took part in this honorable event  placing second, third, and for K.L a special note of appreciation for her beautiful piece. The event is hosted by the Northwestern Community College, in Winsted ,CT.The Peace Poster Competition was organized by the very gracious Carol Beaudoin, professor of Art History at NWCC, and the Winsted Area Peace Action members.  Go check out their website.
Thank you everyone for this wonderful event!

While we are on the topic of peace activism.I received a note from Stephen Kobasa regarding an upcoming show.Mr. Kobasa is a well known peace activist and art writer. He is curating a new show that will open tomorrow at the Housatonic Museum of Art in Bridgeport,Connecticut.
