"REGENERATION" with PAUL HAWKEN at the AMERICAN MURAL PROJECT!

Gilbert School Artists with their Work in Progress" Regena, the Regeneration Whale."

I am super excited that my students were able to be part of the "Regeneration Project" inspired by Paul Hawken's book Regeneration Project; Ending the Climate Crisis in One Generation." This opportunity was hosted by the good folks at the American Mural Project located in Winsted, Connecticut.

The Gilbert High School Artists worked for approximately six months learning about issues and solutions to the Earth's current crisis. They collaborated on creating drawings, and a large sculpture, named "Regena" the Regeneration Whale which will be part of a collaborative, multi-school art piece that will be permanently installed at the American Mural Project Museum. American Mural Project's Principle Artist, Founder and director will be working with the student artist projects to bring the works into one cohesive piece representing all of the students works.

Founded in 2001, AMP is a nonprofit organization focused on honoring work by giving dignity to the American worker and initiative to kids. At its center is the creation of the largest indoor collaborative artwork in the world—a three-dimensional mural 120 feet long and five stories high. Nothing like it exists in the world.
